The most chic toastmakers on the Upper East Side are saying buh-bye after six seasons.

On Thursday, CW bosses announced that the controversial teen drama — which made stars of castmembers like Blake Lively, Leighton Meester and Chace Crawford — is ending its run. Gossip Girl, based on author Cecily von Ziegesar’s book series about a group of high society New Yorkers, first debuted in 2007. And the show routinely found itself at the center of debate over its racy storylines and blush-inducing ad campaigns.
But the series has waned in popularity over the years — along with ratings. The program will draw to a close after a shortened 11-episode sixth season hits screens this fall.
Producers say the final storyline will revolve around an unstable Serena van der Woodsen (Lively):
“Serena has gone off the grid, beyond even the reach of Gossip Girl. Her friends fear for the worst and hope for the best, but even they can’t imagine where they will ultimately find her.”
