Janet Jackson, who appeared in several TV shows as a child, has reservation about her niece and Michael Jackson's daughter, Paris Katherine Jackson, embarking on an acting career so early in life.
Janet wants Paris, who turned 14 on April 3, not to miss out on her remaining childhood.
The singer and actress tells Prevention magazine in an interview, "We've spoken about the fact that you're only a child once. I think there's a time for everything, and now is not the time [to act in films]. I told her I thought she should enjoy being a kid, possibly go to college or not, but wait till she turns 18. She's a very tough, smart girl. But it's a cutthroat industry. I wouldn't want my child to do it." [via Radar Online]
Paris bagged her first role in a film in December 2011, the live action and animation drama - Lundon's Bridge and the Three Keys .
The film is a modern day fantasy adventure set around a war between the land and the sea. The film emphasizes family love and the magic of belief as weapons.
Janet, born on May 16, 1966 is the youngest child of the Jackson family. She first faced the camera for the TV series The Jacksons in 1976 and later appeared in TV shows such as Good Times and Fame .
