Asin has replaced Nargis Fakhri in Khiladi 786 . It will be Asin's second film with Akshay after their recent release Housefull 2.
Nargis, who was to play Amitabh Bachchan's sister in the film, was dropped after Bachchan opted out due to health reasons and was replaced by Mithun Chakraborty.
The producers feel that the very fair complexioned Nargis would now be unsuitable for the role because Mithun, who plays gangster Tatya Tukaram Tendulkar, is much darker skinned!
Directed by Ashish R Mohan and co-produced by Akshay and Himesh Reshammiya, the film additionally stars Himesh and Paresh Rawal and Raj Babbar.
Himesh has penned the film and will score the music.
Filming started on Saturday, June 2 for a 20 day schedule in Kamalistan Studios, Mumbai.
The film will bow in theaters on December 7, 2012.
This is Asin's sixth Hindi film since her 2008 debut in Ghajini opposite Aamir Khan. She will be next seen in Bol Bachchan opposite Ajay Devgn. The film is due in theaters on July 6. Asin and Devgn earlier worked together in London Dreams (2009).
