Three women-centric films - Kareena Kapoor's Heroine, Preity Zinta's Ishkq In Paris and Sridevi's much anticipated English Vinglish will bow the same day on September 21.

Madhur Bhandarkar's Heroine was originally to release on September 14, but the producers UTV vacated the date for Shirish Kunder directed/penned/produced Joker featuring Akshay Kumar and Sonakshi Sinha.

Buzz is that the film is more likely to release in October, close to Kareena Kapoor and Saif Ali Khan's wedding date.

English Vinglish and Ishkq In Paris are the comeback films for Sridevi and Preity respectively.

Producer R. Balki, whose wife Gauri Shinde has directed English Vinglish, says the film "marks the comeback of Sridevi, possibly one of the greatest performers. It was written and discussed keeping Sridevi in mind."

Sridevi plays a simple homemaker who struggles with the English language. The film tackles the issue of how women who can't speak English have a hard time fitting in.

Directed by Prem Soni (Main Aur Mrs Khanna), Ishkq In Paris, also marks Preity as a debut producer. The film features TV actor Gaurav Chanana as the male lead. Salman Khan will be seen in a cameo of a dance and song sequence.

Preity was the first to announce September as the release date for her film. The other two films were announced after that.

September will see the release of two more heroine-themed films - Bipasha Basu's Raaz 3 due in theaters on September 7 and Rani Mukerji's Aiyya that bows on September 28 will round off the month.

Some other releases of September include Akshay Kumar and Himesh Reshammiya's Oh My God and Priyadarshan's Kamaal Dhamaal Malamaal.

Looks like Bollywood is ushering in a new wave of female-oriented cinema, and we couldn't be more excited!
