Jim Carrey Abandon Jenny McCarthy’s Son

When Jenny McCarthy called time on her five year romance with funnyguy Jim Carrey, the split also marked the end of the actor’s relationship with her autistic son.

The Liar Liar star hasn’t seen 10-year-old Evan — Jenny’s son with ex-husband John Mallory Asher — since the former couple called it quits in 2010. McCarthy dished the disturbing deets in an interview with shock jock Howard Stern on Tuesday.
Jenny says that although she no longer speaks to Jim, she has gone through various “channels” to urge him to maintain a relationship with her son. But Jim hasn’t responded.

“I’ve tried to ask Jim numerous times [to see Evan], because my son still asks. I haven’t [reached out directly]…I think that sometimes people need to take a real break from each other. But I still love him. I think you can love people from a distance and respect him. But as a mother, you just hope when you have a relationship with someone, it has nothing to do with the child when you breakup.”

She added:

“I tell [Evan] that someday you’ll cross paths, meet again. . . [but] it’s hard. He’s been in therapy. It’s a process, he’s working on it.”

Jim didn’t exactly deny allegations that he’s cut himself out of Evan’s life when quizzed on the matter by TMZ. But the star insists — it’s for the kid’s own good.

“I will always do what I believe is in the best interest of Evan’s well being. It’s unfortunate that Evan’s privacy is not being considered. I love Evan very much and will miss him always.”

Jenny recently began dating NFL player Brian Urlacher. Jim, meanwhile, has moved on with Russian model Anastasia Vitkina, who is 20 years his junior.
