Olivia Culpo, Miss Rhode Island took the crown at last night’s pagenat. Culpo edged out the first runner-up, Miss Maryland Nana Meriwether and second runner-up was Miss Ohio Audrey Bolte. Olivia, who is a student at Boston University, talked about her love of music, as she has played the cello for 13 years.
What won her the crown last nght? It was probably her answer to the question about a trans-gender contestant competing for the title. Olivia answered saying, “I do think that that would be fair, but I can understand that people would be a little apprehensive to take that road because there is a tradition of natural-born women, but today where there are so many surgeries and so many people out there who have a need to change for a happier life, I do accept that because I believe it’s a free country,” Culpo said.
