Release date of Shirish Kunder's 'Joker' 3D, headlining Sonakshi Sinha and Akshay Kumar, has been pushed back from August 31 to September 14.

"#JOKER starring @akshaykumar & @sonakshisinha now releases on September 14, 2012." Shirish tweeted on Tuesday, June 5.

As of now, Joker will not clash with any other film at the Box-office on release, whereas on August 31 it would have butted heads agains Anurag Basu's Barfee, featuring Priyanka Chopra, Ranbir Kapoor and Illeana D'Cruz; and David Dhawan's Chashme Baddoor Remake.

"To all Salman & Akshay fans who had requested me to shift the release date of #JOKER away from Ek tha Tiger, I hope you are happy now." Shirish wrote on his Twitter.

First teaser promo of Joker will be unveiled in July, says Shirish.

Joker started filming in February in Chandigarh and wrapped in Mumbai in November.

Produced by Shirish Kunder and Farah Khan's Three's Company, the film additionally stars Shreyas Talpade, Minisha Lamba, Asrani, Sanjay Mishra, Vindu Dara Singh, Pitobash, Alexx ONell.

Doing cameos will be Chitrangada Singh in the song Kaafirana and Farah Khan.

Farah's debut film in a headlining role, Shirin Farhad Ki Toh Nikal Padi, is due for release on August 24.
