Sunny Deol's Bhaiyyaji Superhit remains stalled and mired in controversies despite the recent announcement that Subhash Ghai had agreed to bankroll the project.
It turns out that the film's director, Neeraj Pathak, had approached Subhash Ghai without keeping current producer Fauzia Arshi in the loop.
Earlier, the film stalled after it went Rs 6 crore over budget.
Fauzia received a second shock when she learnt that Pathak had approaced Ghai behind her back to bail out the film.
A source told TOI, "There were differences between Neeraj and Fauzia. The project was going over budget and after the first schedule, Neeraj approached Subhash Ghai without Fauzia's knowledge. She was shocked with the news of her venture being backed by somebody else. She holds the rights and has no plans to be a co-producer."
Fauzia says she has full rights to the film and she has put the film on hold until the script and budget are in place.
She refutes any claims made by Ghai.
"The film is all mine. I have the rights for the same. I was shocked to see Ghai's statement in the papers. I'm assuming it is some misunderstanding."
