Donna Summer Album Sales Soar in Wake of Death |
Summer, 63, died surrounded by her family at her home in Naples, Florida on May 17. She is survived by her husband of more than three decades, Bruce Sudano; their three daughters, Mimi S. Dohler, Brooklyn Sudano, Amanda S. Ramirez; and 4 grandchildren.
On Wednesday, Summer’s family and close friends attended memorial services in Nashville. Guests included David Foster, Georgio Moroder, Jamal Anderson and Tony Orlando.
Summer’s 1977 hit “I Feel Love” was added to the National Recording Registry of the Library of Congress on Wednesday, along with Prince’s 1984 album Purple Rain and 23 other recordings deemed cultural or historical treasures.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Salvation Army in Donna’s honor.
