| The People Under the Stairs |
This story of a gang of cannibals preying on people in central Los Angeles is memorable for its messed-up take on the nuclear family: “Daddy” is a twisted psycho who wears some kind of BDSM battle armor around the house, while “Mummy” kidnaps children and raises them on human flesh in her cellar — once they’ve been suitably mutilated. Despite its odd subject matter, the movie has a genuinely creepy and bizarre atmosphere.
