Mary died yesterday inside the family home, her cause of death was a result of asphyxiation due to hanging at her Mount Kisco home. The medical examiner officially ruled the death as suicide, but it’s being widely reported Mary killed herself.
Robert and Mary were married in 1994. Kennedy filed for divorce from Mary in 2010 and is currently dating actress, Cheryl Hines. Mary’s family issued a statement asking a few days to begin processing “Mary’s tragic death and to fully understand all the circumstances around it” before they correct “inaccuracies and misrepresentations.”
Mary leaves behind her four children, Conor, Kyra, William and Aiden. A private memorial service will be held in Manhattan.
